Mr. Hakeem Oduyinka Adeniji was born on 4th February, 1962 at Lagos Island in Lagos state. He attended Surulere Baptist School, Surulere, Lagos between 1968 – 1975 where he obtained his 1st School Leaving Certificate. He then proceeded to Luba Comprehensive School, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and Nigerian Model High School, Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos State between 1975 and 1982 where he sat for his West African School Certificate (O-Level).
Thereafter, he gained admission to the Ogun State University (Now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State and graduated with a B. Agric. (Hons.), Agric. Economics in 1988 and his Masters degree from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, 1995.
Mr. Adeniji who is currently the Director of Commerce, Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives since Jan. 2010, has served in the following capacity since he joined the Lagos State Civil Service: Commercial Services Manager, Lagos State Agricultural Imports Supply Authority (1995-2000), Assistant Director/Head of Department, Cooperative Department, Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperatives (Nov. 2007 – Dec. 2009), Team Member, Doing Business Team in Lagos State: (2011 to Date), Board Member, Governing Board of NYSC, Lagos State. (2011 to date), Team Coordinator, Lagos State Development, a Policy Framework for Investment for Lagos State by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD): (March 2012 to Date), Board Member, Lagos State Technical & Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB) – July 2013 – Date.
